I've been looking for a simple RPG type game on my phone / ipad for a while and I discovered this one yesterday and have been really enjoying it.

You find / unlock heroes and build them up throughout the campaign and mix and match them to make the best teams for a certain scenario.

It's the sort of game I'm a sucker for where certain things go on cooldowns to entice you to come back multiple times a day, but thankfully this one isn't too heavy on that. It's free to play with optional in app purchases, but from my limited experience so far, they seem completely unneeded as you find and unlock things at quite a quick pace and you get rewards for logging in each day etc.

When you get to level 10 you unluck 'My Dungeon' where you can raid other players / defend your dungeon.

I'm at level 12 now and it looks like there's a whole lot of replayability here and will be a great game for when you're taking a shit.

I'd recommend picking it up and let me know how you find it! I'm still new to it, but if you have any initial questions I'll try to answer them.

This is pretty great, and the difficulty curve is tougher than I expected - or maybe I'm doing everything wrong.

I don't like that it seems it will take fucking ages to get more heroes, but I guess I got a couple more within half an hour and that's how they keep you playing.

Good find, will continue.

Just a bit of info for anyone starting this:

There are three ways to upgrade each hero:
1) level up the hero and their abilities
2) collect enough hero tokens to increase their number of stars (1-5 stars)
3) collect "evos" to ascend them (each hero can ascend twice to gain new abilities)

Also at account level 10 you unlock "My Dungeon". In here you get a chest that slowly fills up with gold and you can loot it once an hour. You can attack other players to get the contents of their chest (and they can attack you). You field a team of your four strongest heroes against theirs and it's quite cool.

The enemy team seems to get a boost to their attack speed (or whatever it is) so that they attack first (and often wreck you), but if your guys survive the first turn you're often in a pretty good spot. Bring a lot of AOE damage and preferably a tank with taunt but healers seem to die before they're useful, so just bring more damage with you.

There are "tournaments" which last two days where you go onto a leaderboard with the other people around your level and depending on where you finish on that ladder, you get a bunch of scrolls (which you can use to open the biggest portal). In my first tournament I managed to finish in the top 25 and received 750 scrolls which was pretty sweet.

Really? I didn't even realise games could be locked to a region (obviously it makes sense, I just never considered it). Quite a shame.

All purchases I made on the UK app store aren't applicable to my Aus/NZ account. Which, if you think about it, is absolutely retarded in an online/global market.
Spoon
I understand it from the perspective of games in China would be useless to the Australian market, but from one english speaking country to another it just seems dumb.

Especially dumb since I've seen people talking German and Dutch in the chat...

It's probably because of tax reasons.

Some app stores (for paid apps only) need you to get localalised tax shit sorted.

Similarly AUS devs needs to agree to dumb US tax contracts to put paid apps on their store.

But if you've already bought the app itself in one country, why shouldn't it be counted in your account as purchased for all markets, regardless of taxes? It's effectively a transfer of ownership between regions, which shouldn't cost the end user.

Yeah, I think changing regions lets you keep them for s couple months. My phone purged UK purchases at some point :(

Anywho, this game is pretty cool so far. I'm DanasaurusRAWR

The stamina you get when you level up is really helpful. So if you play the campaign, complete the quests that give +50 XP and level up, you can power through it pretty quickly.

I'm at level 18 at the moment and have about 10 heroes.

I made it to level 6 before I died, then got up to 8 before the end of the night. The rewards for the quests are pretty decent and the hidden sparklies definitely help with the money.

I've got 5 heroes at the moment and trying them all on rotation. The sumo guy doesn't seem that great, but the blocky water tank is handy for lower defence/attack on the enemy.

The healer girl is alright, but pretty spongy and just gets targeted first, so dies. I'm hoping the singular heal once ascended will help deal with that.

I got my first ascension for fire guy, too, so he does a double attack. It's pretty handy having an extra special attack.

Yeah having multiple abilities is extremely useful. Make sure you keep the healer levelled up as she is really important to campaign progression (unless you unlock some other healer, but I haven't yet).

Archer chick can really dish out some major damage at higher levels, especially after you ascend her to get her second ability. She has a nice rotation with two [single target] spells.

Yeah, Archer chick has been really useful, but it looks like I'm at least a chapter away until I can ascend her as most of the levels with the evos are locked.

My farming-end-of-previous-chapter team is red fire guy, archer chick and water blockhead tank. They seem to work well and stay (mostly) alive. It's handy having the potions to keep the other heroes levels up, too. Might give up on sumo mang, doesn't seem that fantastic and I got him as a two star.
