Even though I posted these pictures in the other thread, this new thread is the official indoctrination for everything Vanilla Twelve!

Image

Here you can see the beginning of Twelve-Kronos, Matey and myself combined nearly all of our silver together and created the charter!

Image

This is just after we had received the lucky last signature for the charter, myself and Matey are frantically rushing back to Orgrimmar Guild Master to turn our piece of paper into a thriving cesspool of derp.

Twelve-Kronos is founded! I abused my new found GM power, briefly before being voted (Survivor-style) out of office.

After 2 hours of slaving behind the keyboard, we can officially announce we have RFC on farm. Congrats Twelve!!!

It has been an excellent turn out for old and new members alike. Its been great chilling in Mumble having a good time playing a nostalgic part of the game that we all enjoyed! The server seems to be functioning quite well after a pretty terribad start.

The Dev support for hotfixes (R.I.P. Autoshot/Autoattack bug) has been on the ball, there's been plenty of communication through in-game channels as to what has been causing crashes and what they're doing about said crashes.

I can see myself playing on this server for a long period of time (And hopefully I will see a lot of you on here for a long time as well!), I have just started my barrens questing and I'm looking forward to the grinding and general chat that's on offer!

Happy Hunting.

Jolly good show chaps.

Will put down some more thoughts later, but in the meantime here's a couple of memorable parts from mumble:

Matey, as the server was crashing wrote:
Hey Jim, come here quick quick quick quick
That's not me bro
Come here quick

Jim wrote:
I told him to fuck off before and he licked me

Jim wrote:
I've walked to Sen Jin village four fucking times!

Just go to the Kronos site bro.

Is anyone disconnected?

After download/install issues I didn't get started until a fair bit later than other people meaning I ended up playing a shitty 10+ year old single player game. I got to level 8 then had had enough. I'll play some more if there are some other people around my level playing, but otherwise it just seems like a boring way to waste time.

Server seemed to be working quite well, I had to turn off general chat though because the amount of people whining and arguing about various vanilla servers was through the roof.

I think I'm still level 6 or so and Salin was around the same when I logged back in, so don't worry about being left behind. I'll always be there to catch you Spoon ;)

If anything being the lowest level means you're going to get carried and get free shit all the time. I'm only level 11 too.

It's like BC all over again :D

I had a great time yesterday in Vanilla WoW.

Though, it definitely isn't without its faults. The areas seem too big and are a bit sparse, loot quests take fucking ages in groups, questing is back to its roots and difficult even with mods, gotta collect the flight points and run back for ages to get back to your body, but it's all part of the charm. The people make the game, and I don't think even logging into a thriving guild playing retail could compare to the shit-talking, item sharing, camaraderie we had yesterday.

I think that's what makes Vanilla so great, even with nostalgia put to a side. There just isn't that much to do, so you plod along at a leisurely pace and help others.

You're not too busy doing the 30 daily quests and grinding four other reps for hours, then joining LFG and PUGging an end game raid with other players you don't even say hello to - they may as well be NPC's at that point. All that shit doesn't exist, so you need your mates. This makes the community out of necessity, and everyone thrives because of it, instead of everyone playing solely for themselves.

Many thanks to my group (Doc, Kiral, Clown, Hunterbob) for who started a bit later, and for helping a poor Western Stater do the first few quests to catch up to the herd. Big thanks to Doc for shepherding us all on how to do the quests in the best order, and also big shout out to everyone who jumped on Mumble, shit was great.

Matey and Jiminy, if there was a podcast of you two questing, I'd subscribe to that shit.

Vanilla is pretty much about dungeons and experiencing the vastness and harshness of the world...for the first time. So if you're solo it sucks somewhat. Also the first 10-15 levels sucks...cos your character is gimp.

Push past it and enjoy the dungeons etc. I'll be helping guildies run older dungeons.
Spoon
My issue was almost 100% due to playing solo. The whole point of WoW (to me anyway) is to play with people you like and talk shit while you do it.

On the plus side, I have a working computer now which I didn't last week. I'll jump on again tonight if there are people I can play with when I get home (around 6ish AWST).

Popolo, tell us about the boner you had during that North watch Hold escort quest :)

I hear you spoon. I've made a bunch of questing mates already who are outside guild. Whilst desirable, don't restrict yourself to playing only with guildies to enjoy the multiplayer aspect.

Also, barrens chat is great.

I've been grouping up with Matey and Pop a bit. Mostly ransoms who I meet at quest hubs then flow through to the next quest. It's always more efficient to do the quests involving humanoids that like to run into other packs when at low health. Fuckers.

I've had moderate success with playing the AH. At 18 I've got 4g from selling even the shittiest greens. The drop rates here are blizzlike...unlike Nost where you could get two greens off the same mob. My advice is obviously try the general chat but don't vendor any green, you can always get another 50-100% on the AH.

8slot bags are now going for 15-17s. Worth it, get them! I think it will be another week or two before mageweave bags are available for 80s or so... The 8slotters will pay for themselves in that time.

At 18 I can tank WC now. I'll start farming it this Friday when I'm back from work. I'll want the belt, boots and chestplate from there. Hopefully we can get a guild run together!
