So my friend is wanting to expand on a business level and has an idea for an app.

He works with training dogs (and is also a Kenpo instructor) and would like to have an app that he can use toward helping parents and children to learn about raising different types of dogs - behaviour traits, breed info etc.

If anyone can help, I'd love to put you in touch with him to discuss ideas, budget and requirements etc.

Was going to say an app doesn't really make much sense.

I think it could still be a good option, as phones and tablets are much more readily available. But, I don't know his whole overall vision for it, nor am I tech savvy.

Depends on your goal?

If your goal is to get silly people with more money than sense (patience) to quickly pay a few quid over iTunes (or some other distribution platform) for the information, why not go for it?

Fo sho. All depends on what they want.

Mere information could be put in a web app, but a mobile app monetises mere information from free into GIMME DA CASH.

All depends on target audience, additional (oftentimes gimmicky) features etc.

Pretty much any app could be made into a web, but native apps but they're generally more immediate, responsive, reliable and blah blah buzzwords.
