Forum participation is a great use for the wow guild. Currently I have the in game recruitment tool active to look for social players but this will take time as most of the time these type of people are casual players who are never online to receive a guild invite. I could request applicants to make a recruitment post here in the forums but for a social player this would be an ordeal and I would expect too few people would do it. I could say "a post to our recruitment thread is optional", but I'd question if it would be a good idea to add a forum link in the recruitment message as it might lead dodgy people here. I'll add one if you guys think its a good idea.
The majority of the people who are logging in at the moment are years old veterans who are well aware of the forums. Does anyone know that Peekay is an active member at the moment? I just did a search for his forum account it displays 1020 posts but no activity: he has been inactive in the forums for ages. Veteran participation in the forums is something I could try to increase.
I know you guys like drama but there isn't much drama to be had at the moment. Everyone just chills out and has a good time. Out normal raids of a Saturday night have been great fun and crazy just how many old school people are coming along to them.
Other than that, maybe some more guild activities in game? They always build community and are great fun. Storm a capital city, raid Tarren Mill, have a transmog/pokemon/garrison competition or whatever the hell else is in the game. Post screenshots on the forums and link that thread every 5 minutes in gchat, people will click it.
Sounds like a good idea but I'm not sure how many people would buy it because I don't think enough people would sign up. The forums always have things going on though. Maybe I'll make a link in the MOTD to your fb page which keeps track of the activities.
