I watched the pilot of this last night and enjoyed it. It's similar to other Working Dog projects from the past (such as Frontline) and that's a good thing.

It's also fairly similar to The Thick of It and The Games and those sorts of 'government jobs are ridiculous' shows. Some decent laughs to be had and I plan to watch the rest of the series.

My organisation, the Metropolitan Planning Authority, is frighteningly similar to the NBA in Utopia.

The entire show is an unsettlingly accurate commentary on the industry.

Bain finds it hard to watch because it's eerily similar to his government place of work

Correct. If you aren't working in government, it's quite funny. Unfortunately it's too close to reality for me and is depressing.

I admittedly haven't been able to watch it much either.

Despite it being a pretty great show for all intents and purposes, it makes me shudder and cringe way too much for my liking.

To be fair, that seems to apply whether you work in government or just any office. Some of it is all too familiar as bureaucracy exists in all work places and some of it is a bit too frustrating to watch.

That said, I've actually gotten through a few episodes lately and it's splendidly executed.

We have a new IT manager who decided to set up a standing desk. He's very tall so looks like a giant meerkat looming over that corner of the office.
The other two IT guys now also have standing desks …

One of my tasks last week was to consider "straplines" (buzz phrases) for our precincts.

CBD - "Where the business gets done"
Red Light District - "Where the business gets done"

There's two for you.
