Holy shit how big do you want these things to be? I turned avatars and signatures off about two years ago so that posts were as small as possible with only the necessary stuff, I can't even imagine how much useless space there'd be in each post with bigger avatars.

It doesn't show up on ipad/phone/shrunken windows, but it's nice to have on when browsing at home. 500x500px seems reasonable, but I didn't really think about the load times as Clown pointed out. I imagine it'd make gif avatars a bitch at that size.

That's half the width of the content cell. You're a monster.

These are all the things I don't know about, so when it comes to having to get a tiny picture, it feels a bit odd I guess. I just see the page on my screen and wonder why the picture needs to be so small compared to the space on my screen. A lamen view of it all you could say.

Avatars off is for lamewads though, missing out on all the beautiful colours.

Lol, ok. That's pretty funny. Just chatting with Clown and my screen being 3840x2160 does kind of make it seem bit smaller I guess.

Nah.

If you find it absolutely necessary, you could use an adblock helper rule to hide a users posts.

##article.postby-Shrewmkin .post, article.postby-Shrewmkin .profile-card
Would hide shrewm using uBlock Origin.

This would hide the post content and avatar, but leave the bar so you know there's some context you'll be missing.

Thusly:

Can we have an ignore button so we can block a person and live in a happy oblivious world where they don't exist?

With some of the activity of the community switching to Slack I wonder if mentioning on the title page the amount of Slack posts that have been posted for each day. It could also mention pinned items.
