The origin story behind Commissioner James Gordon's rise to prominence in Gotham City in the years before Batman's arrival.
As originally conceived, the series would have served as a straightforward story of Gordon's early days on the Gotham City Police force. The idea evolved not only to include the Bruce Wayne character, but will also tell the origin stories of several Batman villains, including the Penguin, the Riddler, Catwoman, Two-Face, the Joker and Poison Ivy.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It could be a great addition to the universe, but it will be very hard to top Nolan's interpretation. I'm really just hoping they're putting in the effort, instead of just making a dumb drama in Gotham City instead of in space like they seem to be doing a lot lately.
Ben McKenzie (Ryan from The OC) as Detective James Gordon.
Donal Logue (King Horik from Vikings) as the bad guy Detective Harvey Bullock.
There's some good actors in there, but also some weird looking people I don't know.
