I found summed up my thoughts better than I could:
I got Destiny at launch, had some fun, got bored and quit right before the first expansion. I have not touched the game since. This trailer does seem promising. I've never felt so conflicted about a game, though. While Destiny had some fun moments, the lack of story, lack of content and price of DLC has kept me from going back.
Then this bloke pitched in:
You haven't heard, this expansion pretty much is a complete overhaul of the vanilla destiny adding new content fixing alot of the problems from vanilla even changing the light mechanics to only balancing armor and health
Which does sound nice, and promising.Screen grabs and info from /r/DestinyTheGame: clicky.
I know a few Twelvians (Thor, Steyr, Wastey etc) have or are starting to play again which is awesome.
I did love Destiny even in Vanilla because it was such a solid foundation. Everything about the gameplay/graphics/voice acting and all that jazz was amazing. I feel it just didn't have enough [varied] content or was something just a bit too off the mark of what was expected, to keep everyone happy or appeal to a wider audience.
Even with a flawed game I had many many hours of fun, because of the people I played with. Running dailies or nightfalls, and the odd raid or pvp sessions with Twelvians were a great highlight.I'm hoping they have learnt from their mistakes and this will be a huge step forward, because even after this rocky start it could turn into something quite fantastic.
