Destiny

Year Two - The Taken King

Hunterbob
So this game has a few quirks, but is pretty awesome overall.

I had some connection issues when we (Clown and I) changed zones a couple of times, but it feels like a pretty stable build. That said, things that bug me a little: you can't sprint and reload, the controls can feel sluggish and a wee bit unresponsive at times (probably lag/network), and lastly, the respawn times are ridiculously fast for enemies.

The lighting and pallet used is great, the slight bleakness is broken up with the occasional awesome scenery or big industrial buildings.

The levelling and gear system seems good, too.

In summary, get your wallets ready, this should be a great team game.

So it seems september is the deadline for me getting a PS4 then. That's when this releases, right?

Yep, there's also going to be a Destiny PS4 edition released. Effectively just a white PS4 with Destiny pre-bundled.

Has anyone preordered this yet?

It's on the Playstation Store for $99 (which is ridiculous) and gets you in the Beta.

Hunterbob pointed out that JB have it for $79 which is better but no mention of the Beta.

There's also a good interview here: http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2014/07/16/ … d-balance/

TSA: It feels like you have this vast scope, with missions that can head off to Mars or the Moon, but where does it end? How big actually will the final game be?

David: So big that you would need a map to get from one side to the other, but because we’re Bungie, we won’t give you one! We’re going to make you learn your way around.

This is an exploration fantasy. Mankind is finally leaving the protective veil of the Traveller and going out into the wild to reclaim the things that were taken from us when the Darkness came to our solar system and decimated everything that we’d known.

So we really want to instil in the player that sense of wonder and of exploration, that they might be the first people that are exploring some of these destinations, that they’re going to wake up the old ghosts of the Golden Age that have lain dormant for centuries and to rescue those secrets and bring that technology back home so that humanity has what it needs to protect itself and to reclaim our lost worlds.

David: We couldn't be fucked making a map.

I think this will be pretty fun to explore with you jerks though, hopefully it holds our attention for a few weeks at least

I'll pick up a beta code at work tonight, if anyone needs one (within reason) I can probably get a couple extras.

I just preordered because it wouldn't even charge my card/wallet yet, what a trap.

I assume they'll email through beta codes soon after purchase?
