Destiny

Year Two - The Taken King

The Kotaku review even said his little play through was a bit boring, but it seems that everyone who has played for a bit longer says after a while it all just clicks. The immensity of the scale or possibilities or some crap like that.

Hopefully they figure out the fun bits and work on those a bit better before the release then.

Borderlands 2 I got bored within an hour, it could just be that I don't like those sorts of games anymore, but hopefully this one is more engaging from the start.

Borderlands 2 was awesome, I liked the type of world it was in and the batshit awesome weapons. It was way more fun with a group though, that's where it shined and I'm hoping for something similar from this.

Getting to play Destiny: better than Halo?

The hunt for better and better loot will keep me going for months, but Destiny's emergent massively multiplayer gameplay is what will keep me playing for years. Take on a random public quest, for example, and perhaps you quickly realise you're in over your head. Then, over the hill comes another Guardian, a white knight to save you from certain death. You're saved. You wave. You group up, summon your Sparrow then speed off towards some loot-packed adventure over the next hill, the sun setting on the ruins of the Cosmodrome. Or the Moon. Or Venus. Or maybe Mars.

Destiny's greatness will lie in how well it sows the best of World of Warcraft and the best of Halo into a seamless virtual fabric. I'm still waiting to find out if Bungie has successfully threaded the best of Blizzard's MMO, but I'm certain it's successfully threaded the best of Halo.

Excerpt from: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014- … -than-halo

The article is mostly comparing it to Halo which doesn't do much for me, but it's good to get a different point of view on the massive aspect of it all.

I don't think I've really comprehended the scale they're going for yet, so for me, I've really only seen it as a Planetside type game. If it is in fact aiming for more of a WoW mixed with Halo, this could be grat!

Loot discussion, wish we got to see more of the actual loot/inventory/customisation though.. not just hype.

I am with Spoon on this 100%. I found the Borderlands games to be absolutely boring.

I tried to find the downloads on my phone, but I guess I'll have to donut on the console itself =\

I'll get the downloads sorted tonight, so that Sunday arvo can be a shoot fest in space and vs baddies.
