Welcome, Jerks!

The goal of this club is to expose its members to acclaimed cinema that you otherwise wouldn't get around to seeing. This club isn't for Dodgeball and Avatar, it's for [hopefully] excellent movies that you haven't yet made the time to see because they were too old, too long, too foreign or too obscure.

The movie club is now in session. This thread shall be used to discuss suggestions for future TMC viewings, directions you would like the club to explore and other such things.

Every monday I shall assign a member to choose the viewing for the week from the list and the goal is to watch that movie and discuss it in its appropriate thread. To be eligible to choose the movie of the week, you must have participated in reviewing the previous week's movie.

If you have already seen the assigned movie, not to worry, just jump straight into the discussion and/or catch up on a previous week's viewing that you may have missed and/or just give yourself a high five.

Please be courteous to other members by making use of spoiler tags within the relevant threads since even though the film might be 100 years old, the idea is still that we won't have seen them prior to the assigned film's feature week.

This is an awesome idea, and I'm amazed it's taken 6(?) years to come about. I will definitely endeavour to watch this, maybe include in the OP possible links for torrents or rapidshares (when available), etc?

Well, as denizens of the internet it is mostly expected that you will be able to find such things yourself, but if you are having trouble then I'm sure you'd be able to ask and have someone oblige with the details.

Also, Twelve began in November 2005, so 6+.

I think if this goes well we'll succeed in getting a bunch of culture up us.

Actually having trouble finding a decent rip of this, I found one which looks like trash, and another one which is dubbed in Swedish.

I'd rather watch it in Swedish.

Such a hipster.

Great Idea Spoon. I will like to participate in this club.

I love expanding my mind in new, weird, foreign and just different movies that may even have references to pop-culture that I never realised.

Can't we just discuss said weeks movie in this thread? Otherwise you may as well just make a new thread each week with the relevant movie and this one becomes defunct.
Fork
I think a thread per movie is fine.. this could be for suggestions on next week's movie and shit like that.
Jiminy
I recommend we watch "Caligula" under the "Most controversial movies of all time" sub category. It's a must see purely due to it's reputation of being heinously disgusting and horribly bad.

This thread's purpose was made clear in the original post. This will also serve as a directory / table of contents for all future viewing threads.

Good to see we have a bunch of people on board. Get downloading! (or renting if anyone still does that?)
