I was addressing this sentence and raising a new point. That being, if you think fantasy movies are biased to pleasing the aesthetic wants of the male audience then you best take it up with the authors because that's where it comes from. As I already pointed out, if we're staying true to the books then dwarfs are not meant to be sexy. Ergo, your sexy dwarfs are unnecessarily sexualised purely to please the aesthetic wants of women.

And just my point, that it's about damn time we got some attention in an action/fantasy movie. For once the men are ridiculously attractive instead of the women. Beauty is also in the eye of the beholder, when an author describes a woman to be the most gorgeous and perfect to walk the earth, there is no possible way to please every person in the audience. What it has deteriorated to in most cases is boobs and ass, face doesn't matter as much if they have those two "qualities" and are shown off as much as possible. Where I would normally complain about the ridiculous and unnecessary amount of cleavage and outfit that defiantly isn't practical for anything but a RP porno, you are complaining about pretty dwarfs.

It's a well established fact that the face is by far and away the most important aspect when a male determines the attractiveness of a female. This is why women put make-up on their face rather than their chest and ass.

Oh and there is no such thing as an unnecessary amount of cleavage.

Zeespades have you known anyone from Twelve previously? Perhaps someone who used to post here?

I am just curious.

Agree to disagree?

I don't see any point in raising a new thread for the next movie...

Who's seen the desolation of smaug? I watched it today in 3D...FREAKING AWESOME! Arghh can't wait for the final film... Peter Jackson does fantasy good.

My favourite scene: floating down the river in the barrels being chased by the orcs; loved bombur smashing up packs of them then sticking his arms out with weapons and spinning around...he's hilarious.

I thought it was ok, but it went for too long and had way too much unnecessary shit in it. It wasn't drawn out as the first movie, but still could have left a fair amount on the editing floor.

The barrel scene was absolutely amazing and my favourite part, and redeemed the rest of the movie in my eyes. Evangeline Lilly being a kickass elf came in a close second.

Yea I really enjoyed it, Evangeline Lilly was awesome. Thoroughly enjoy the last hour or so, inside the Lonely Mountain was awesome, dragons and shit. Really can't wait until I can watch the Hobbit marathon, back to back with Lotr. Peter Jackson is one of the best Directors.

this will definitely happen in my house; my wife and I love the middle earth world.

Evangeline played an elf 100% created for the movie; I think they managed to make the character robust enough that it didn't seem tacked on.

I thought this one was much better than the first one. I really enjoyed it throughout, it's a shame there wasn't as much Bilbo this time though as Martin Freeman really carried the last movie.

Barrel scene was indeed spectacular.

I felt ripped off again that it just abruptly ended without any sort of reasoning. I feel like we've just so far seen 2/3rds of a 9 hour movie. When it is all out and you can schedule a full day to marathon them, that's when it's really going to be special.

Until then you've just got multiple movies that don't really work on their own.

Barrell Scene...

I couldn't stop myself and just start singing aloud "I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL" Was met with the sound of atleast a hundred people laughing at/with me bahaha

Was meant to see this on Boxing Day, but plans fell through.

What is everyone's opinion of seeing it at an IMAX?

I'm curious for this too actually.
