Hooray i'm flying to America soon!
Wonder if I should get a seat with extra leg room?
It's a long trip.
I hope the plane is comfy.
Someone at work said the A380's are very comfortable.
But we didn't get one of them, shit.
But wait, they had engine trouble, that's probably good.
It's ok though, I don't think anyone died.
You'd just coast along with one less engine and chill somewhere.
But flying to America you're going over the ocean.
What if you chill in the ocean?
Would they still deploy the blow up slides if you're in the ocean?
Shit I hope I could get a life jacket.
Would you just bob up and down there for ages in a life jacket or would you have a little raft?
How long would it take for someone to find us?
I remember Sinbad The Sailor story from a kid, he was in a similar situation.
He prayed to the gods that no harm would come to him by creatures in the ocean.
Would I do that?
But I don't believe in god.
It worked out for Sinbad ok.
Would I still do that?
So, the question I came up with was.. if you were in some extreme and dire circumstance (such as stranded in the middle of the ocean) would you pray to god / the gods that you don't get eaten but returned safely?
I couldn't decide if I would or not.
I'm not a believer, I'm a man of facts and evidence. I was getting worried if you did pray "for the sake of it" and you got rescued, you would be one of those idiots that had a "life and death experience" and would have to turn to god and become a priest or some shit.
I think I'd be too proud to, and would try and punch the shark in the face before praying. But I couldn't decide fully.
What would you do?
